COPE UK | 15th May 2012 | The Events Industry: A Discussion

COPE UK is delighted to invite you to our next event, taking place on Tuesday 15th May at One Lombard. This event will take the form of a networking breakfast and panel discussion exploring current trends within corporate events industry.

Leading our discussion will be Nick de Bois MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the Events industry in the UK. One year into the chairmanship of APPG for Events in the UK, Mr de Bois will share with us the activities of this Group and as the success of Britain for Events, an annual campaign designed to raise awareness of the full economic, scientific and cultural benefits delivered by the meetings industry to the UK.

Nick de Bois Biography:
Before entering Parliament Nick set up and developed his own company, Rapiergroup. The company specialises in the events and exhibits industry, delivering event-led marketing projects for clients across a wide range of industries. Since forming the company in 1990 he has overseen the business during both good and bad economic times. When he left the business to enter politics in 2010, Rapiergroup employed 100 people and delivered events and exhibitions across the globe. Member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Trade and Export – Nick has used his 25 years’ experience of starting and growing a business by helping the push for supporting UK companies export. In particular he is interested in new and emerging markets and developing a robust strategy for increasing the UK market share of exports both for the short and long term. Justice Select Committee – Nick was elected by his peers in the House of Commons to serve on the Justice Committee, which scrutinises expenditure, administration and policy of the Ministry of Justice and associated public bodies.
